"Guardians of the Earth"
6th grade - Residential Our
longest running program, Shomrei Adamah, now serves students
from over 45 schools from Baltimore to Boston. The ecological
emphasis is on energy flow, cycles, bio-diversity and interdependence.
Students also explore the relevance of the Jewish concepts of
Bal Tashchit (the biblical injunction against wasteful
behavior) and Tikkun Olam (healing the world) in light
of current environmental problems.
Our students were transformed by their experiences. They returned
to the school and their homes with a sense of Tikkum Olam
and the power that individuals possess for changing the world.
I credit this to your highly committed and charismatic team of
Jewish educators.
